Gibraltar is packed with exciting sight-seeing opportunities, visitor attractions and amenities. The Rock’s small size, allows you to make the most of a morning, or an afternoon, to take a leisurely stroll around the Rock’s top sites.
If you come in through the frontier, park your car, head to Marina Bay and take one of the Dolphin watching excursions out into the bay. The unforgettable experience of witnessing the magnificent interaction that these intelligent marine mammals are capable of with humans, will remain with you as a highlight of your Rock visit.
Return to port after a couple of hours and then walk to Casemates Square, the bustling nerve centre of the Rock, the commercial and social hub at the heart of the community.
Linked to Main Street, this thoroughfare runs the length of the city and provides for one of the most intense and spectacular shopping experiences in the region. Wines and spirits, perfumes, fashion trends, cutting edge technology and electronic goods – all VAT free – are lined up in an endless array of commercial outlets providing numerous deals to prospective customers.
Once your bargain hunting has been satiated, make your way to the Alameda Botanic Garden, the Rock’s own mini Kew, and enjoy the impressive indigenous flora, and the Wildlife Park of protected exotic species.
To complete the experience, take a walk to the ‘Gibraltar Nature Reserve, Upper Rock’, home to the Barbary Macaques, or alternatively, to Europa Point, Gibraltar’s southernmost spot and home of the only Trinity lighthouse outside of mainland UK, for breathtaking vistas of the Strait of Gibraltar and the coast of Morocco.
